Demond Wilson, Lamont in Sanford and Son, Dead at 79

Demond Wilson, who played Lamont Sanford on the hit NBC sitcom Sanford and Son, has died at the age of 79.

TMZ reports that the actor passed away on Friday, January 30th, from complications related to cancer.

Wilson portrayed Lamont Sanford, the son of Redd Foxx’s Fred Sanford, on all six seasons of Sanford and Sons from 1972 and 1977. He also starred as Oscar Madison in The New Odd Couple, ABC’s updated version of The Odd Couple that aired in the early 1980s.
