DESERT STORM Announce New Album Buried Under The Weight Of Reason, Share New Track "Woodsman"

British heavy metal shapeshifters Desert Storm have announced their new album, Buried Under The Weight Of Reason, set for release on March 6 via Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

Buried Under The Weight Of Reason blends sludge, doom, and heavy metal mass with moments of softness, space, and vulnerability. Across nine weighty tracks, Desert Storm summon themes of wilderness, ceremony, and human chaos, expanding their sound without abandoning their instinct for hook-driven heaviness.

The band have also highlighted the album's evocative new track "Woodsman," a song that encapsulates the record's primal spirit.

"'Woodsman' is a journey into the wild," the band explain. "An evocative blend of crushing heaviness and contemplative stillness." Stepping away from modern life, the track draws inspiration from reclusive wilderness figures "of myth and memory," exploring themes of renunciation, survival, and rediscovery.

As the band describe it, the forest becomes both sanctuary and adversary — "a place where rage, instinct, and feral energy intertwine with wonder, reverence, and ancestral wisdom." Its shifting dynamics reflect the experience of entering the unknown: "sometimes violent, sometimes serene, always alive." With "Woodsman," Desert Storm invite listeners to "abandon the familiar, embrace the instinctual, and walk deeper into the uncharted wilderness."
