Dr. Martens and Metallica Team Up for New Shoe and Boot Collection

1 month ago 9

Dr. Martens and Metallica have joined forces for a new shoe and boot collection that features multiple styles. The iconic footwear company and the legendary metal band will roll out the 1460 boot and the 1461 shoe on January 29th.

The eight-eye boot comes in two editions, with the first being a standard style featuring artwork from Metallica’s 1988 “Damaged Justice” tour created by visual artist Pushead. An alternate version, which will exclusively available on Metallica.com, is a black-on-black edition, inspired by the band’s 1991 self-titled effort, also known as “The Black Album.”

The three-eye shoe, meanwhile, features artwork from the 1986 “Damage Inc.” tour, also created by Pushead. Both the boots and the shoes are cut from durable Backhand leather, and each feature a Metallica ‘M’ heel stud, special edition dog tags, and a secondary set of laces printed with, ‘Boredom comes from a boring mind.”

A photo campaign for the collab features actual diehard Metallica fans, including the father-daughter duo of Rob and Ruby.
