Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris has been placed in an induced coma following a “critical medical emergency” earlier this month. The 58-year-old was rushed to hospital on August 6, shortly before the group were due to perform with Lionel Richie at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The show was postponed just minutes before it was scheduled to start, with the band saying they were “unable to perform as scheduled” because of a “medical emergency involving a member of our band”.
