Ebbb – “Shallow Hits”

London trio Ebbb are dropping their debut album Shallow Hits on in July. They've already released the singles "Now You Know" and "Home Ground." Yesterday, they shared their third offering, the album's grand title track.

"Shallow Hits" is mesmeric and synth-heavy. It starts big and throbbing, anchored by Scott MacDonald’s drum pulses. Then, just before the chorus bursts into a shower of crystalline melody, the song pulls back into itself, tightening the suspense. In a press release, Ebbb shared that "Shallow Hits" is about “chasing quick dopamine highs to escape emotional emptiness, and how that can lead to destructive patterns of self-sabotage.”
