Elanor Moss Announces Debut Album The Knife, The Needle: Hear “Sarah Waiting In The Car”

Meet Elanor Moss, an evocative London-based singer-songwriter who signed to Merge last year. After a few years of exquisite songs and EPs, she's announcing her debut album The Knife, The Needle. The new single "Sarah Waiting In The Car" is here today.

"'Sarah Waiting In The Car' broke an almost year-long drought of writing songs," Moss explains. "It reignited that spark in me around songwriting, and felt like a breakthrough into something new and intriguing that I wanted to follow. It served as a bit of a guiding light as I re-entered a more consistent relationship with songwriting again; the north star of the album in a way."

The sprawling song was made with an ensemble arranged by Matthew Herd: Marcus Hamblett and Jool Owen on horns, Andrew Stuart-Buttle and Jenkins on violin, Linus Fenton on double bass, and Herd on saxophone. The LP was recorded with producer/engineer Pete Miles. Hear "Sarah Waiting In The Car" below.
