It took less than a week, but apha male extraordinaire Elon Musk has surrendered to Donald Trump, ending his back-and-forth with the president with an early morning mea culpa. “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote in a tweet shared shortly after 3:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
During the height of their feud last week, Musk claimed he was responsible for getting Trump elected and alleged that Trump’s name appeared in the Epstein files. Musk also vowed to start his own third party. In response, Trump threatened to cancel Musk’s government contracts and reportedly told aides that he worried the former head of DOGE was using drugs. Whatever the reason — sobriety, the threat of losing billions of dollars in funding for Space X, realizing he’ll never be liked by liberals, et al. — Musk has now laid down his Twitter fingers and, to use one of Trump’s favorite expressions, come crawling back like a dog.
