There are still a lot of mysteries left to unpack in the upcoming Yorgos Lanthimos movie Bugonia, but one thing’s confirmed: Emma Stone’s high-powered female executive is a Chappell Roan fan. “Good Luck, Babe!” underscores most of the new trailer, which offers an unsettling look at the new film, also starring Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone.
“Two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth” is the official description for Bugonia, with Stone (who shaved her head for the role) playing the shorn executive/suspected alien, and Plemons and Delbis as her kidnappers.
Bugonia is the fourth collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, following The Favourite, Poor Things, and Kinds of Kindness — a collaboration that’s been incredibly fruitful both creatively as well as on the awards circuit, as Stone’s received two Oscar nominations and one win as a result.
Bugonia premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and will receive a limited theatrical release on October 24th, followed by a wide expansion on October 31st. Check out the new trailer below.
