Kicking off Saturday for the festival’s 20th anniversary edition at the Big Top, The Cornish Sound Unit perform a live score of BAFTA-winning filmmaker Mark Jenkin’s 2025 film Rose of Nevada.
On Saturday morning people came in droves to see The Cornish Sound Unit’s live score and screening of Rose of Nevada which stars Callum Turner and George MacKay.
The Cornish Sound Unit is a creative collaboration between musician Dion Star and Jenkin, bringing experimental soundscapes which work with tape loops, analogue synthesis and improvised sound design. Their live performances are raw, evolving events – never quite the same twice – giving the Cornish time-loop drama a newfound sense of tension and catharsis.
Originally commissioned by the BFI to score Jenkin’s folk-horror film Enys Men, their performance at End of the Road is a continuation of The Cornish Sound Unit’s return.
End of the Road continues today on the Big Top with performances from Bassvictim, PVA and Kelly Lee Owens.
