Gray’s Anatomy and Euphoria star Eric Dane passed away this week at the age of 53, and following his death it’s been revealed that he was an interview subject for the Netflix series Famous Last Words, hosted by Brad Falchuk. Dane’s interview was filmed in November 2025, and is streaming now.

Per Netflix, Famous Last Words interviews are recorded “with the understanding that they were to be kept secret and only aired posthumously,” and conclude with a segment in which the subject speaks directly to the camera, sharing their final thoughts with the world. The first installment of Famous Last Words, featuring Jane Goodall, premiered in October 2025 immediately after her own passing.

Dane, who became a pop culture icon as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on Grey’s, revealed in April 2025 that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In a statement Falchuk said that “Eric and I were the same age when we discussed his life and legacy, so the conversation felt uniquely moving and personal. There was no self-pity in Eric. He refused to complain. He was brave, soulful, charming, joyful, grateful, and hilarious — and when he flashed that smile, he was undeniably still a leading man. His final words at the end of the episode are truly beautiful. I will miss him.”
