Director Emerald Fennell gives a classic novel some modern twists in the 2026 film adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

Loosely based on the book by Emily Brontë, the romantic drama follows the tumultuous bond between former childhood friends Catherine and Heathcliff in 18th century England.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi star in the lead roles, alongside Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell.

Wuthering Heights is Fennell’s third feature film, following Promising Young Woman and Saltburn. The film was released in cinemas on February 13, 2026.

This is the latest in an overstuffed line of Wuthering Heights‘ screen adaptations. Past versions include a 1970 film starring Timothy Dalton, a 1992 version led by Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, and an ITV adaptation with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley.
