Ex-Turnstile Guitarist To Undergo Competency Evaluation After Threatening to Fire Lawyer at Attempted Murder Hearing

Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert was ordered to undergo a competency evaluation after threatening to fire his lawyer and press charges against police officers during his latest hearing on attempted murder charges. The hardcore musician is facing a potential life sentence after being charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree assault for a March incident in which he allegedly hit Turnstile singer Brendan Yates’ 79-year-old father William Yates with a car. According to the Baltimore Banner, during the hearing at Montgomery County Circuit Court, Ebert accused his lawyer Mark Sobel of working with the prosecution, stating, “I’m going to fire him.” He also claimed that a previous lawyer had taken a bribe. At one point Ebert said, “We can watch the video right now and prove my innocence.
