Fejká has a new one out on Colorize, and it’s a good one.

‘We Were There’ is Fejka’s first original for the label, and he brought Kim Van Loo along for the vocal. The two go way back, they started writing together during the lockdowns, and that familiarity is obvious here. Nothing feels forced. Her voice just sits right in the middle of the track while everything builds around it. It’s melodic house, but the kind that’s more about mood than the drop.

If you know Fejká, you know the drill by now. Warm, analogue, cinematic, patient. The guy came up in the Black Forest, got taken under Christian Löffler’s wing early, and studied film before his production career took off which explains why every release comes with its own look and the compositions are decidedly cinematic. That approach has racked up more than 100 million streams across tracks like ‘Svanur,’ ‘Hiræth’ and ‘Shades of You.’

This isn’t his first time on Colorize – he remixed Klur’s ‘Apologue’ back in 2023 – but it’s the first thing that’s fully his. Good timing, too. Fejka’s heading over to the US for the Colorize North America tour with dates in Toronto and New York.
