Fetty Wap Interpolates The Cranberries On First Post-Prison Album

2 hours ago 2

Hey what's up hello. The New Jersey sing-rapper Fetty Wap has been through some unpredictable career turns since he scored three top-10 hits, back-to-back-to-back, in the summer of 2015. In 2021, federal authorities arrested Fetty just before he was supposed to take the stage at Rolling Loud New York, accusing him of conspiring to distribute over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack. He got a six-year prison sentence in 2023, and he was released in January. Today, Fetty releases his first post-prison album, and he's out here interpolating the Cranberries on it.

Fetty Wap's new album Zavier leans into the R&B side of his sound. In the press materials, Fetty says that the LP is "about growth." Artists like Wiz Khalifa, G Herbo, and fellow recently freed inmate Max B make guest appearances. On a song called "Fool For You," Fetty sings a good chunk of the Cranberries' immortal 1993 jam "Linger." It's not great or anything, but my feeling is: Fetty Wap has been through a lot. Let him sing some Cranberries if he wants. Listen below.

Zavier is out now on 300 Entertainment.
