The upcoming “Back to the Beginning” concert featuring the final performances from Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne has gained even more star power. Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler and the surviving members of Soundgarden have been added to the already jam-packed bill.

The July 5th event at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, will also feature performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, and many more acts.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Sharon Osbourne revealed that Tyler and the Soundgarden members are joining the all-star lineup. The news comes just days after Soundgarden were announced as inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Guardian also spoke with Ozzy, who reiterated that he won’t be playing full sets with Sabbath or his solo band. “We’re only playing a couple of songs each,” said the metal icon. “I don’t want people thinking, ‘We’re getting ripped off,’ because it’s just going to be … what’s the word? … a sample, you’re going to get a few songs each by Ozzy and Sabbath.”

The Prince of Darkness also confirmed that the July 5th concert will indeed be the last time he’ll perform live, due to his various health issues, including his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease. “I’d love to say ‘never say never’, but after the last six years or so … it is time,” affirmed Ozzy. “I lived on the road for 50-odd years, and I’ve kind of got used to not picking up my bags and getting on the bus again. I don’t smoke dope or do any of the rock star lifestyle any more. I’m kind of like a homebody. I never go out. I never hang out in bars – I don’t drink.”

He added, “So what the fuck is out there for me? I hate going shopping with my wife. I feel like stabbing myself in the neck after half an hour. But it’s time for me to spend some time with my grandkids, I don’t want to die in a hotel room somewhere. I want to spend the rest of my life with my family.”

A documentary titled No Escape From Now, chronicling Ozzy’s recent health struggles, as well as the final Black Sabbath concert, will air on Paramount+ this coming fall.
