Flea Announces New Album Honora, Reveals “Traffic Lights” with Thom Yorke: Stream

Flea has announced the release of his debut solo album, Honora, out March 27th on Nonesuch Records, and a supporting 2026 international tour. As a preview, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist has released the latest single, “Traffic Lights,” featuring vocals, piano, and synth from Thom Yorke. Stream it below.

Honora is named after a beloved family member, with Flea playing the trumpet and bass throughout, in addition to composing and arranging all the music. He was joined by album producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks. Vocals on the record were contributed by Flea himself, as well as superstar friends Thom Yorke and Nick Cave.

With the announcement of the album, Flea has also shared tour dates for this spring. Joined by the Honora Band, the trek kicks off on May 7th in Chicago and wraps up on May 28th in Paris, with stops in Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles along the way. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster or Flea’s website.

“Traffic Lights” is a smooth, mid-tempo groove that wouldn’t sound out of place on an episode of Hey Arnold! With its trumpets and soft drums, a marriage of Yorke’s soothing voice and hand claps in the background, it’s the perfect glimpse of what to expect on the project.

The track follows the previous single “A Plea,” which was released in early December.
