Fontaines D.C. Detail New Album Dopamine Chamber: Hear “Marianne”

After debuting new songs over the weekend, Fontaines D.C. took to their socials to confirm a new album called Dopamine Chamber is on the way. Now we've got some official details and one (1) studio recording. Produced by James Ford, the follow-up to 2024's Romance will be out in October on XL. Lead single "Marianne" is out now with visuals by music video director Dave Meyers.Frontman Grian Chatten says he found inspiration for the new album traveling around Venice, Vienna, and Sicily. “I think Romance was maybe 60 per cent human and 40 per cent corrupted by automation, and a loss of feeling," he says. "This one feels more like 60 per cent corrupted — the mask is wearing the face a little more." Chatten adds, “I felt it would be more powerful to leave the hope out and reflect the ugliness honestly. This one needed to feel more like a catastrophic warning.”"Marianne" is a grand synths-and-strings operation, a cinematic ballad that represents new frontiers for Fontaines.
