Foo Fighters – “Caught In The Echo”

It's some more Foos for youse. We're about a month away from thew Foo Fighters releasing their new album Your Favorite Toy, and Dave Grohl and company already shared the title track, as well as teasers for every song on the album. Single number two drops today, and it's called "Caught In The Echo."

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you here: I don't exactly have sky-high expectations for a new Foo Fighters song in 2026. That said, I hear "Caught In The Echo" as a nice little surprise. It's got the weird stadium sheen of a lot of the band's recent stuff, but there's also some nice lift in its chorus and some nice grit in its riffage. You could plausibly describe certain parts as being "post-hardcore" without reaching so hard that you pull a muscle.

If you told me that "Caught In The Echo" was a re-recording of an unearthed, unreleased Foo Fighters song from the '90s, I'd believe you. Hear it for yourself below.

In other Foos news, the band recently played a couple of small-venue shows in Ireland, where they debuted their new song "Of All People." One of those gigs was a no-phones situation at St. James Church in Dingle, the place where Dave Grohl went to grieve after Kurt Cobain's suicide. On Monday, that set will air as an hour-long special on RTÉ's international music series Other Voices.

Your Favorite Toy is out 4/24 via Roswell Records/RCA Records.
