Former Black Midi member Cameron Picton's new band, My New Band Believe, announce debut self-titled album

Alongside Picton, Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble, and Andrew Cheetham form the group, who have pulled together a vast collection of songs which course through different emotional and thematic territory.

"Numerology" serves as a preview of the band's capabilities, but it arrives as an exclusive non-album single which will be featured on a bonus 10” to accompany a special edition of the LP, and it will also be issued on a limited edition Deluxe CD. The track sees Picton teetering between disaster and the thrill of danger against instrumental dance music, the first insight of a new era in which the musician comes into his own as a band leader.

My Band Believe formed out of a phrase that came to Picton during a period of illness. While he hadn't actively jumped into joining another band or making a solo album after Black Midi disbanded in 2023, Picton eventually returned to the studio to turn the one-off phrase, "My Band Believe", into something real.

Described as "massive and hallucinatory", the band's debut arrives as their most concrete work after a run of live shows over the past year, which has seen them play venues across the UK with a rotating line-up.
