This Graham Hunt guy does not slow down. One year ago today, we bestowed Album Of The Week honors upon the Wisconsin indie-rocker extraordinaire's Timeless World Forever. He's already announcing the follow-up, American Pyramid, set for release on Run For Cover at the end of this summer.
Hunt swerved from his usual home-recording approach, instead mostly tracking the new LP at Minnesota's Pachyderm Studios, where Steve Albini famously recorded Nirvana’s In Utero and PJ Harvey’s Rid Of Me. Lead single "Waiting For You To Come Home" does have somewhat of a professional sheen to it, but in terms of impact, it brings the same ebullient DIY energy we've come to expect from Hunt. "Nothin' out there makes sense," he sings, "But everything in here makes me feel gross." Real shit!
