MIRADOR — a new band featuring Greta Van Fleet guitarist Jake Kiszka and Ida Mae’s Chris Turpin — have released their debut single “Feels Like Gold.” It’s the first taste of their upcoming self-titled debut album, MIRADOR, set for release on September 19th via Republic Records. In addition, they’ve added upcoming tour dates.
Kiszka and Turpin first connected in 2018 when Ida Mae opened for Greta Van Fleet during a sold-out, three-night run in Detroit. Late-night jam sessions, fueled by wine and a mutual love for artists like Charley Patton and Fairport Convention, sparked a deep creative bond.
“We were like long lost brothers,” said Kiszka in a press release. “After we wrote those songs, I realized we had a chemistry I’d never had with anybody but my own brothers. It was obvious we needed to do this.”
After a month opening on Greta Van Fleet’s “Starcatcher World Tour,” MIRADOR entered the studio with Dave Cobb, recording their debut album live in just two weeks.
Blending mythic storytelling, Delta blues, and genre-pushing rock, “Feels Like Gold” tackles themes of conquest, cultural collision, and hope in the face of chaos. Its raw, thunderous, and packed with the kind of guitar sorcery you’d expect from two of modern rock’s most respected players.
The band, which is rounded out by Mikey Sorbello on drums and Nick Pini on bass and keys, will also embark on a 32-date international tour, including a North American run in September and October, followed by a UK/European jaunt in November. Tickets to newly added dates go on sale Friday, August 1st, at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster, while tickets to previously announced shows are already on sale here.
