Gun Outfit announce first album in 6 years, playing East Coast shows (hear “Unfelt Loss”)

West Coast band Gun Outfit are back with their first album in six years, Process & Reality, which will be out May 12 via Upset The Rhythm. It’s an 80-minute track double LP that they’ve been holding onto for a while: the album was recorded over a single month way back in 2020 during California wildfire season.

“I hope it provides listeners at least somewhat relaxing and hopeful,” says the band’s Dylan Sharp. “We are in the midst of an insane strategy of tension situation in the US and this is just an invitation to fade in and out and remember your friends and not get too stressed out all the time, even it appears we are hurtling over edge into absolute cynicism and depravity.”

The first single from the album is “Unfelt Loss,” a melancholic, dusty desert jam, and you can watch the video below.

Gun Outfit will be on the East Coast next week for three shows: Hudson’s The Half Moon on February 15, Philly’s Beautiful World Syndicate on February 16, and finally a Brooklyn show at Union Pool on February 17 with Ornament that’s part of the venue’s Free Tuesdays series.
