Rusty Williams first released Grand Man last February with the support of his granddaughter, Hayley Williams, Paramore drummer Zac Farro, who released the album on his label Congrats Records, and guitarist Taylor York, who digitised the music. Rusty recorded the songs in Mississippi in the 1970s with his friend and producer Frank Morris, but they were nearly lost to time until Morris rediscovered the album.
Back in November, the 13-track collection was expanded with a deluxe edition that came out exclusively on vinyl, featuring two unreleased songs from Rusty, and Hayley’s cover of his original song “Friends or Lovers” featuring Farro on drums, and Britney Howard on background vocals, flute, and acoustic guitar. On Thursday (15 January), Grand Man (Deluxe Edition), was released digitally, with the exclusive tracks now available to listen to on streaming platforms.
