Almost a month ago, Hayley Williams of Paramore surprise-released 17 new solo songs, first on her website and then to streaming services. She didn’t give any context for them at the time, but she’s now announced that they make up her new album Ego Death At a Bachelorette Party. It’s out now digitally via Hayley’s own Post Atlantic label and available for pre-order on vinyl, due out on November 7.
In addition to the 17 songs she’d released already, the album ends with the previously unheard “Parachute,” and you can hear that, and watch the videos for “Glum” (directed by Zachary Gray) and the title track (directed by her Paramore bandmate Zac Farro and AJ Gibboney) below.
Daniel James produced the album, and it also features contributions from regular collaborators Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard, and Jim-E Stack on “True Believer.” Andrew reviewed the songs for Notable Releases earlier this month, and picked the five best – watch him discuss those below.
