Paramore singer Hayley Williams has teamed up with songwriting partner Daniel James for a new project called Power Snatch. The duo have unveiled four tunes via a three-song EP and stand-alone single.
Williams and James revealed the project during a takeover on Apple Music 1, but it turns out the outfit has secretly been teasing music for months. They posted a snippet of a song via Instagram back in July, and released the tune “DMs” through Bandcamp in December.

Now, they’ve unleashed a three-song effort titled EP1 via Bandcamp that features the songs “DMs,” “DUH,” and “HOLE IN THE CEILING,” as well as an additional spoken-word track titled “ASSIGNMENT” via YouTube and other DSPs. The songs range in sound from indie to grunge to shoegaze to noise rock.
James co-wrote and co-produced Williams’ most recent solo album, the Grammy-nominated Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, while also playing keyboards, guitar, and bass on the LP.
It remains to be seen if Williams will perform any Power Snatch songs on her upcoming North American solo tour. The spring outing kicks off in late March, with tickets available here.
