When post-punk iconoclast Mark E. Smith passed away from lung and kidney cancer in 2018, the Fall had been working on a new album. Now, that album is finally coming out. It's called Post Script, and the lead single "30 Degrees" is here.
"30 Degrees" was produced by past members Simon Archer and Ed Blaney, who also wrote the song alongside the frontman. Blaney clarifies that Post Script is made up of nine tracks. We do not yet know its release date.
The Fall's final album was 2017's New Facts Emerge. In 2023, five former Fall members — Si Wolstencroft, Paul Hanley, Steve Hanley, Pete Greenway, and Martin Bramah — started a new project called House Of All and subsequently upset Smith's family.
"30 Degrees" is definitely a song by the Fall. It's good! They should've hired someone for the single artwork, though. Anyway, hear it below.
