Split Fiction has had an incredibly successful launch, peaking at more than 250,000 players on Steam and selling 2 million copies within a week. But if you don’t want to buy a copy, or just want to try the game, you may be wondering when it will hit Game Pass, especially as EA has a partnership with the service to release its games into Game Pass when they also hit EA Play.
While we don’t know when it will join Game Pass exactly, we can look at other EA games, and It Takes Two to get a rough estimate.
It Takes Two hit EA Play around 9 months after it launched, so we can expect Split Fiction to arrive towards the end of 2025 on Game Pass and EA Play.
There is always some variation and flexibility when games show up in EA Play, so Split Fiction could arrive early in 2026 too, especially if it continues to sell well. Like with Hazelight’s previous games, only one copy will likely be needed, allowing you to invite another player for free via the Friend Pass.
If you don’t want to wait until then, you can try the game for free right now via a demo Friend Pass that lets both players try the game and see if it is for them. Overall, it’s a really player-friendly way of ensuring the game and Hazelight maintain good will.
Split Fiction is the highest-rated game of 2025, three months into the year, and it could very well be a Game of the Year contender. For even more on the game, check out how long it is if you do plan to play, as well as where the voice actors have appeared before in other games and shows.
