HorsegiirL Gallops Into a New Era with Debut Album, ‘Nature is Healing’

horsegiirL is known for her fantastical and theatrical horse-sona, but on her debut album, she steps away from pure spectacle and leans more toward reflecting on themes of connection and healing.

2026 is not only the year of the horse, but it is also horsegiirL’s year. The singer, songwriter, DJ, and producer who’s captivated audiences with her half-horse, half-human persona and audacious artistry dropped her debut album, Nature is Healing, on June 5 via RCA Records.

Many listeners became aware of horsegiirL because of her virality. But beyond the internet memes, high-speed anthems tinged in tongue-in-cheek humor, and playful barnyard aesthetics and equine lore, horsegiirL has always been an artist with a clear creative vision. Nature is Healing brings that vision into full focus.

While the album is still rooted in the maximalist party energy that fueled her rise, she uses this project to explore more serious themes of community, self-discovery, and humanity’s connection to the natural world. “I want to remind human beings that they are part of nature, ” horsegiirL said about Nature is Healing. “They are not looking at nature from the outside, but they are right in it. ”

Nature is Healing arrives 16 months after her 2025 EP V.I.P – Very Important Pony, which was a hedonism-fueled record inspired by the self-indulgent lifestyle she adopted when she first moved to Berlin. On Nature is Healing, however, horsegiirL presents a different, more introspective perspective. Throughout the project, she examines what happens after the party ends and consumption and escapism lose their appeal.

Musically, the album mirrors that journey. horsegiirL moves freely between punchy dance-pop hooks, euphoric house, electroclash, downtempo, Balearic grooves, and pulsing gabber, all while dropping bits of clever and insightful wisdom throughout. Samples of birds, insects, mammals, and reptiles, along with percussive elements, accordions, and pan flutes — all from different parts of the world — are woven throughout the record. It’s a sonic palette that feels intentionally global and reinforces the album’s central message that humans are intrinsically connected with nature and each other.

Several songs really capture the essence of the album. “that’s my beach!” channels summer-fueled euphoria while celebrating both romance and a connection with Mother Nature. “earth is turning” reflects on nature’s resilience against human’s actions, while “only the best” satirizes her old materialistic persona, and “aura” closes out the album as a celebratory, accepting nod towards her loved ones.

Nature is Healing is a testament to the fact that silliness and seriousness can coexist. Throughout the album, horsegiirL reflects on the excesses of her former lifestyle and her personal growth without sacrificing the whimsical, eccentric nature of her unique and resonant brand. The result is a record that feels larger than the dancefloor while remaining grounded in it.
