PRIMA is framed as a collection that leans into the complexities of her age, eschewing a single mood in favour of something more conflicted. “I want this album to sound exactly like a 22-year-old girl,” Adéla Jergová explains. “I tried to express both sides. I mixed the hard with the soft, the vulnerable with the swag of it all, the muscular beats with the feminine energy. I did exactly what I wanted to.” Lyrically, the record examines insecurities, toxic relationships, and broader themes of identity and autonomy, anchored in what Jergová describes as “pumps and pirouettes.” The record’s title carries a dual meaning for an artist who began her career in ballet. While it translates as “first” to signal her debut, it also invokes the ranking of the lead dancer in a company, the prima ballerina. “I’m trying to be the prima ballerina of pop, and this is my first step to achieve that,” Jergová explains.
