Insomniac Ushers in a New Era with Beyond Wonderland Midwest

Insomniac is upgrading Beyond Wonderland Chicago in a big way in 2027, renaming it Beyond Wonderland Midwest and expanding the festival to four days with camping.

Insomniac hosted another successful edition of Beyond Wonderland Chicago to help kick off the summer months, welcoming thousands of dance music lovers to experience all that the whimsical festival had to offer. In the wake of the weekend, Pasquale Rotella and his crew got back to work on next year’s experience, and it’s shaping up to be even bigger and better, with the announcements that flooded in today.

Beyond Wonderland Chicago will officially change its name to Beyond Wonderland Midwest when it takes place on June 11-13, 2027, and is set to receive some significant upgrades that will entice even more headliners to flock to the festival. This includes a shift to a new venue, Chicagoland Speedway, which previously hosted EDC Chicago in 2013, as well as an additional day of music at the festival, another day via on-site camping, expanded stage production, and later operating hours.

“After years of incredible memories, we felt it was time to open a new chapter and reimagine BEYOND,” the statement from Insomniac reads. “While we cherished every moment, we are drawn to evolve into something even more magical. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that BEYOND is moving to the Chicagoland Speedway! Here, we have hundreds of acres to explore, build, and unleash our creativity!”

Aside from the major name change, the addition of camping is the largest upgrade from previous years. Those who want to stay on-site can grab a four-day RV or car camping pass that includes a free Thursday night pre-party, nightly silent discos, activities, games, and more to be revealed. Camping Packages are also available, bundling four festival passes with one car camping pass.

The shift to Chicagoland Speedway also allows the festival to extend its official hours to 2am and offers far more room for headliners to move and groove at the venue. Insomniac has teased that they’re planning to use the hundreds of acres of space to create unique activations throughout the festival grounds, enhance the stages, and more, so stay tuned for additional details.
