Jack Osbourne Sheds Tears as He Recalls Ozzy’s Reaction to Final Concert

Jack Osbourne became emotional as he recalled his late father Ozzy Osbourne’s reaction to his final concert on the latest episode of Billy Corgan’s The Magnificent Others podcast.

At one point in the near-90-minute chat, Jack and Corgan began talking about Ozzy’s insecurities, with Jack saying, “When left to his own devices, that kinda darkness of ‘I am less than, I suck, I’m not worthy’ would really take over.”

Corgan then mentioned a conversation he had with longtime Ozzy and Black Sabbath photographer Ross Halfin after that final “Back to the Beginning” concert last July in Birmingham, England.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman told Jack, “Ross said to me after the final show in Birmingham… every gig that he ever shot your dad, going all the way back to the ’70s… your dad would be like, ‘I was terrible. I’m so embarrassed, I can’t believe these people are cheering for me.’ And he said the last gig was the only time he didn’t say that.”

Jack chimed in, “Oh, he was so happy. It was the craziest thing. I ran into the dressing room, and I was like, ‘You did it!'” Jack then broke down in tears as he recalled his father’s happiness in the moment, adding, “I’m only crying because of [my father’s] joy. He was so happy.”

Sadly, Ozzy passed away just 17 days after the “Back to the Beginning” concert, where he performed his last-ever sets as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath.

In the same interview with Corgan, Jack said Ozzy was having a normal morning the day he passed. “He woke up, went downstairs, made some breakfast, had a cup of coffee, and that was it.”
