Jackass 5 Confirmed For This Summer, BAM MARGERA To Participate

A brand-new Jackass movie is officially on the way, with Paramount Pictures confirming that the next installment in the long-running stunt franchise will receive a wide theatrical release on June 26. While the title has not been formally announced, all signs point to the film being Jackass 5, rather than a re-release or anniversary project.

Johnny Knoxville teased the news earlier this week in an Instagram post, shared jointly by himself, the official Jackass account, and Gorilla Flicks, the production company founded by franchise mastermind Jeff Tremaine.

The caption read: "Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26^th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!"

The new film arrives four years after 2022's Jackass Forever, which proved that the franchise's mix of pain, absurdity, and masochistic spectacle still had mainstream appeal. That fourth installment famously featured Knoxville being launched by an enraged bull, Danger Ehren facing a black bear while coated in honey, and Steve-O subjecting his genitals to a swarm of bumblebees.

Jackass Forever also marked a generational shift, blending the original cast with newer members including Zach Holmes, Sean "Poopies" McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka, and Rachel Wolfson — a formula that is unclear if it'll be coming back in Jackass 5 or if there'll be another shift.

Variety notes that Bam Margera will make an appearance in Jackass 5, though via archival footage: "Bam Margera has signed an agreement to appear in Jackass 5 via never-before-seen archival footage," wrote Variety author Ethan Shanfeld.

"While things could change, Variety understands that Margera will not be filming new stunts for the movie, which will premiere in theaters June 26 via Paramount Pictures."
