James Murphy & Questlove Are DJing Phish’s Mexican Resort Festival

Like many bands with highly dedicated fan bases who can afford to travel, Phish have a resort music festival in Mexico. The 10th anniversary edition of the jam band's annual Riviera Maya getaway is going down Jan. 27-30 of next year. It'll feature four straight nights of Trey Anastasio and the boys faithfully re-creating their studio recordings, plus a comedy program called Here Come The Jokers and some poolside DJ sets.

Today they announced that the DJs in question will be none other than James Murphy and Questlove. Yes, the frontman from LCD Soundsystem and the drummer from the Roots. More will be announced. They'll be joined by a comedy lineup including Rory Scovel, Ali Macofsky, Phil Hanley, Beth Stelling, and... is that noted SNL alum and Portlandia co-creator Fred Armisen I see? I guess Malkmus collaborating with Anastasio was the canary in the coal mine.

I'm going to save the "Losing My Edge" jokes for my next book, but feel free to make them yourself in the comments!

Here Come the Jokers… ??? And a few late-night legends! We’re thrilled to welcome Ali Macofsky, Beth Stelling, Fred Armisen, Phil Hanley, and Rory Scovel to this year’s @PhishRivMaya comedy lineup. Plus, late-night DJ sets from James Murphy (DFA / LCD Soundsystem) and… pic.twitter.com/o0nQ137nWi
