Japanese Breakfast Earns First Gold Record

In 2021, Michelle Zauner released the third Japanese Breakfast LP, Jubilee, and practically catapulted into fame. She went on The Tonight Show, played SNL, threw a first pitch at a Mets game, and was nominated for Grammys. Now, five years later, she earned her first gold record for that album.

The indie pop artist posted pictures with the plaque on social media today. It also serves as Wild Nothing's first gold record, as Jack Tatum helped produce, alongside Zauner, Alex G, Craig Hendrix, and Ryan Galloway. Jubilee had also earned her a nomination for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist, plus five Libera Award nominations, four of which she won.
