A new version of “Let My Shoes Lead Me Forward”, originally from her 2005 debut Love & Youth, is one of two reworked tracks completing the 22-song set – the other being “Pass Me the Salt” from 2011’s Blazing – and is shared today alongside a remix by longtime friends and early collaborators The Knife.
“DREAM vs. DREAM is a collection of songs from my entire discography, 2005–2025,” says Wilson in a note to her fans. “The title suggests that a kiss only becomes a kiss when two pairs of lips meet, that the taste of a raspberry exists only on the tongue, and that music exists only when someone listens. Art is communication – an exchange of giving and receiving. Without you, the listeners, these 20 years would have been silent. Thank you for holding the searchlight for me, so I could continue digging.”
The release of DREAM vs. DREAM follow's last year's FANTASY FINALLY FOREVER EP, which featured Wilson's first new music in English since 2018's widely acclaimed EXORCISM. Since then she's dabbled in "erotic horror ambient" as one half of Driften, gone back to her roots with 2021's MÄSTERVERKET, written an opera based on a novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Elfriede Jelinek, and produced for other artists besides.
