For decades, Johnny Knoxville has endured brutal physical punishment for the entertainment of all, but the Jackass star has now hit his limit. In an interview with the podcast Books That Changed My Life, Knoxville said that for the upcoming Jackass 5, “I can’t do anything where I can get another concussion… [I’m] way over my limit for concussions.”
Concussions aren’t the only injuries Knoxville has endured since Jackass began as an MTV series in 2000 — far from it. However, the number is high enough for him to need a break, especially after sustaining a serious brain injury during the filming of Jackass Forever. When it comes to all other areas of his body, though, he’s up for taking damage: “I don’t care about anything else. I just can’t get hit in the head anymore.”
He also noted that “a lot of other guys can,” adding that filming these movies are “pure hell for the cast, but they’re a lot of fun for me.” There are no confirmed details about who from past Jackass casts might be returning for Jackass 5, except for the news that former regular Bam Margera will be present in the form of archival footage.
Jackass 5 will commence nut-kicking in theaters on June 26th, 2026.
