Kander dives into his latest release, “Rules of the Dance,” and gives fans a sneak peek of what’s coming in 2026.
Kander is a hard techno artist from the UK who helps build the foundation of the local underground and brings it to the mainstream. His style is defined by a gritty edge that touches on the entire spectrum of techno. He rose to fame alongside the contemporary style of hard techno, which has become essential to his milestones like playing the biggest festival stages and releasing on prestigious labels such as HEKATE, R-Label Group, and more.
His most recent release, “Rules of the Dance,” landed on Teletech, and it’s making waves in the scene. Kander flipped Mungos’ Hi-Fi‘s original track by incorporating a thrilling mix of hard bounce, schranz, and techno into it.
Mungo’s Hi-Fi was a big influence during Kander’s formative years, so it only made sense to reimagine “Rules of the Dance” with his artistic vision. “I was working with all kinds of vocals and one day, it just clicked,” he told EDM Identity. “The inspiration hit me and I thought, ‘why haven’t I done this yet?'”
I downloaded the acapella, and I had been toying with what direction I was going to take it in. Near the end of a studio session, I had about twenty minutes before I was meeting up with a friend. In those twenty minutes, I made the kick, bass, percussion, and added the vocals. I was about 2.5 hours late to meeting my friend in the end, but I finished the track.
Kander“Rules of the Dance” is now a part of the Teletech catalog, so fans are likely to hear this new record on the upcoming Teletech North American tour. Kander is joining the festivities in Dallas and Austin on March 27 and 28, respectively, and he’s excited. “From what I’ve seen from the team, the production is going to be absolutely insane,” he shared.
Kander is relatively new to audiences on this side of the pond, but he’s no novice. “I’ve been able to gauge what the North American crowd wants and adapt my sets accordingly,” he said. “To be honest, my Teletech sets are going to be classic Kander energy with maybe a few more vocals.”
Apart from the Teletech tour, Kander is keeping busy on the music front the rest of the year. He has a brand-new label in the works called Born To Fail. Although the first record has yet to be released, Kander already has a set vision for it, expressing that “the goal of the label is to create a platform that releases tangible work.” As a result, every track on Born To Fail will also be released on vinyl to give people a sense of ownership of, and attachment to the label.

When I was younger, I would go to a lot of record shops over my travels and pick up records that have influenced and shaped my sound today. Most of those records were five to ten years old. So when I release a record with Born To Fail, the idea is that it will also live on to be enjoyed, be re-discovered, and influence the next generation.
KanderIf a label wasn’t enough, Kander also has plenty of more music in his vault. In fact, there’s enough unreleased IDs to supply two secret side projects, and he revealed the initial information about them to EDM Identity. First, Kander is set to debut a brand-new musical identity under the alias Reker. This project is influenced from Kander’s move to Berlin, Germany where he’s been exposed to a new side of techno music with the groove sound.
“I recently had the privilege of opening a couple of shows which has naturally pushed me into playing some different sounds and experimenting outside of my usual peak-time set. That’s where the Reker project came from,” he shared. “I have several projects that I’m going to finish over the next few weeks, and I’m excited to release my first track as Reker later this year.”
Next, Kander is teaming up with fellow techno artist Tham for their new project, THANDER. The idea came about as Tham and Kander recently started sharing a studio with each other and thought it would be nice to make music together. Neither of them had previously met outside of online conversations, but their bond as friends has grown strongly since building and sharing their studio.
THANDER is kind of a nod to the past and the music we both used to love but repackaged in a slightly more schranzy, modern way.
KanderKander clearly has no shortage of plans for 2026, so make sure to stay tuned to his frequencies to watch all of these projects come to life in real time. Kander’s Teletech tour stop in Austin is sold out, but make sure to snag tickets to his Dallas date and all remaining dates to the Teletech North American tour on the official Teletech website!
