Kasabian‘s Serge Pizzorno has spoken to NME about teaming up with Calvin Harris for their new collab single ‘Release The Pressure’, teasing that they could be joining one another on stage this summer to “bring the noise”.
Following on from the Leicester indie veterans’ 2025 single ‘Hippie Sunshine’ and ahead of their upcoming album ‘Act III‘, the one-off single with the dance giant lands as an Ibiza-primed electro floor-filler.
“Calvin and I have been in each other’s orbit for about 20 years,” Pizzorno told NME. “I first saw him perform at Lollapalooza in South America and was absolutely blown away. We recently reconnected, exchanged numbers and decided it was finally time to collaborate in the studio.”
The frontman explained how ‘Release The Pressure’ was born from he and Fraser T Smith “experimenting with dance ideas when this track just came to us”.
“We sent it to Calvin and two weeks later I received a message: ‘Banger incoming. Hotel vibes’,” said Pizzorno. “I played it and it blew my mind.”
However, it was the second version of the song that Harris sent over that really landed with Pizzorno – with potentially embarrassing results. “I was in the West End strutting down the street listening to it – it must have looked crazy, but I knew straight away it was going to be a big hit,” he admitted.
With some huge shows on the horizon – including the biggest London headline date of their career at Finsbury Park – Pizzorno teased that Kasabian fans may expect to see their famous friend joining them on stage.
“This track is definitely going into our set this summer and yes, it would be a dream to collaborate with Calvin and bring the noise!” he added.

‘Act III’, Kasabian’s ninth album following on from 2024’s acclaimed ‘Happenings‘ and due later this year, will offer a different sound however – with Pizzorno previously telling NME that their new songs “definitely find us in guitar world”.
“I’ve fallen for my guitar again,” he said. “I feel like it’s just giving me riffs every day, it’s beautiful. You’re looking for inspiration in the studio and the guitar is just where I’m at right now. It sets the stall out for a great guitar record.”
Fans will get the chance to experience the new album when the band play the biggest London gig of their career so far to 45,000 people at Finsbury Park on Saturday July 4.
“It’s so exciting. Live now, we’ve got the show into a place where we offer a very unique experience,” said Pizzorno of what to expect. “After so many years, to be announcing our biggest show in London is pretty amazing. We just keep working on this live show and it’s going to be even better next year. I can’t wait, it’s going to be fucking unbelievable.”
