KERRY KING And His Solo Band Perform BLACK SABBATH And IRON MAIDEN Covers While Touring Japan

Kerry King's history in Slayer is well-documented. Forming in 1981 in Los Angeles, California, Slayer's earliest line-up consisted of Dave Lombardo on drums, Jeff Hanneman on guitar, Kerry King on guitar, and Tom Araya on bass and lead vocals. In 1984, Kerry King did try out with Dave Mustaine's Megadeth for a brief period before realising he was unable to commit to both groups, dedicating all of his time to Slayer.

A year after Slayer's disbandment in 2019, Kerry King launched his own solo project, featuring himself on guitar, Kyle Sanders on bass (Hellyeah), Mark Osegueda on vocals (Death Angel), Paul Bostaph on drums (Slayer), and Phil Demmel on guitar (Machine Head, Vio-lence) and has remained the same since the debut group's debut in 2024.

Earlier this year, King said that he fully intended on working on a second solo album, despite the fact that Slayer are back together. He said that nearly a dozen songs had already been demoed for the project and it's simply a matter of finding the time to record it.

And just this past week, Kerry King and his solo band took their show to Japan and put on two sets – one in Tokyo on October 13th, and the second in Osaka on October 16th. Fans were not only treated to a slew of Kerry King songs, but the guitarist made sure to include songs from Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Slayer on the band's live setlist.
