Kerry King has announced the release of the expanded edition of his eponymous band’s album From Hell I Arise, due out July 19th via Rising Phoenix Records.
The expanded re-release features new cover artwork by John Bousema as well as five demos of songs later featured on the finished album, this time featuring Kerry King himself doing scratch vocals, a practice he began in Slayer but has never released publicly before.
The album has digital, CD, and vinyl editions, including a unique toxic orange color version. Pre-orders are available here.
There is also a deluxe edition of the re-release limited to 666 copies worldwide exclusive to the Rising Phoenix Music website. This edition comes with the album on double vinyl, with the demos taking up side C and a unique etching on side D. In addition, there’s a recording of the band’s first=ever live show from May 4th, 2024, in Chicago on both CD and DVD.
The album was initially released on May 17th, 2024 as the debut release from Kerry King’s self-titled band formed in the wake of the dissolution of Slayer. In addition to King on guitar, the band features Slayer’s Paul Bostaph on drums, Death Angel’s Mark Osegueda on vocals, Hellyeah’s Kyle Sanders on bass, and former Machine Head member Phil Demmel on guitar.
Slayer have since reunited and recently announced a series of 40th anniversary shows for their seminal album Reign in Blood with a second Los Angeles date having recently been added after the high demand for the original show. Pick up tickets here.
