Lady Gaga Embraces Mayhem as Host and Musical Guest on SNL: Watch

In an interview with Consequence leading up to her second turn serving as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Lady Gaga told us what makes the late-night sketch show so unique. “I’ve always loved lots of different kinds of art. So being able to be a host, but also be the actor in the skits, and then be the musical guest and bring my artistry as Gaga — it’s really cool to be able to do it all in one place. SNL is such a rare show where they really do celebrate that.”

Gaga’s wide-array of talents were indeed on display during last night’s episodes of SNL, as she delivered two knockout performances in support of her new album, Mayhem, with “Abracadabra” and “Killah.” She also took the lead in sketches that included an a woman who lied about it being her birthday to get a free sundae at Friendly’s; an absurdly wacky sketch involving motorized luggage; a parody duet with Bowen Yang; and as the proprietor of a funeral home pushing a roaring ’20s-themed routine in a funeral home.

Next up, Gaga is slated to headline Coachella this April, followed by a show in Mexico City. Then, in May, she’ll head to Brasil for a free concert in Rio De Janeiro. Get tickets to her upcoming tour dates here.
