We recently mentioned that Strange Pains, the band led by Ted Bradley of Empty Country‘s live band, is gearing up to release a double album called The Diamond District that Joe D’Agostino from Empty Country/Cymbals Eat Guitars produced, mixed, played, and sang all over. We’re now premiering the new single “Soon and So On,” which Joe says is “kind of a duet” between him and Ted, and Ted had this to say about:

It’s nice to spend time in a softer, more unconscious space where images and feelings move without needing to resolve into meaning. When you’re tired and close with someone, the weirdest ideas, tiny revelations, grandiose plans, ancient secrets are all fair game to explore. Communicating like that is fun. Many of my favorite memories seem sort of pre-verbal in that way. My hope is that people might see something of themselves in it.

It’s a lovely, sweeping indie rock song with cello from Noel Heroux of Hooray For Earth, and if you’re into classic indie like Wilco and Pavement, you should give this a spin. Listen below.
