Traxman, Four Tet, SHERELLE, and Ben UFO are among the artists on the Making Time ∞ 2025 lineup.
Making Time ∞ is back in a big way. The annual Philadelphia festival has steadily grown as a grassroots movement since inaugurating in in 2021. This year, a whopping 126 acts are slated to perform, making it as good a year as any for underground dance music fans to make the trek to Fort Mifflin from September 19-21.
The Making Time ∞ 2025 lineup includes its fair share of internationally known names. Among them are longtime UK figurehead Four Tet, Polish techno DJ and producer VTSS, Detroit mainstay Moodymann, and prodigious UK DJ Ben UFO.
But the average attendee of a festival like Making Time doesn’t base their decision solely on how many names they recognize on the bill. This one in particular platforms a number of relatively unsung heroes of the underground. Between Chicago turntablist Traxman, New York luminary Avalon Emerson, or English DJ and producer Erol Alkan, this is a lineup that emphasizes sound over status.
Making Time ∞ is partnering with outfits like The Lot Radio, Great Circles, and Subsurface on its 2025 edition. The announcement also notes that Klip Collective will provide visuals over the course of the three-day event.
In conversation with Billy Penn, Making Time ∞ founder David Pianka aka David P said that the festival may not have happened if not for the pandemic. “I had so much time … I wasn’t able to play, I wasn’t DJing, I wasn’t doing parties” he said. “I had time and space mentally to really be creative and really strategize.”
