Maria BC explores sleeplessness and romance on new single, "Rare"

"Rare" arrives just ahead of the release of Marathon this Friday (27 February), following previous singles "Night & Day" and title track "Marathon", adding to a collection of songs that serve as an exploration of endurance for Maria BC. Touching upon themes of love and exhaustion, it shifts between warmth and space as an example of contrast existing within the upcoming record.

Speaking about the song, Maria BC shares: "This is a song about being in love with someone who never sleeps. I’m proud of the chaotic arrangement - the skittering percussion, the discordant twang of my ancient zither."
