Michael Che Surprises Colin Jost with Joke Swap: “You Specifically Said We Weren’t Doing That This Year”

Saturday Night Live’s Christmas episode traditionally features a “joke swap” between Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che, but this year, Che appeared to pull a once over on Jost. After Che set the segment up, a stunned Jost protested, “You specifically said we weren’t doing that this year… and you know I did not write any jokes for you,” prompting Che to retorrt, “Well, I guess you’ll just have to read mine.”

Jost then begrudgingly launched into Che’s jokes, including barbs about civil rights, the Catholic Church sex scandal, and, of course, his wife Scarlett Johansson.
