Michelle Trachtenberg’s Cause of Death Revealed

The New York City medical examiner’s office has determined Michelle Trachtenberg’s cause of death.

Citing toxicology test results, the medical examiner said the actress died of natural causes due to complications of diabetes.

No autopsy was performed because Trachtenberg’s family declined for religious reasons. According to ABC News, the medical examiner did not overrule the objection because there was no suspicion of foul play or criminality.

Trachtenberg was found dead at the age of 39 in her New York City apartment on the morning of Wednesday, February 26th. It had been speculated that she passed away due to complications from a rejected liver transplant.

The actress was a child star in the Nickelodeon classic The Adventures of Pete & Pete before her star turn in Harriet the Spy. Trachtenberg later played Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl.
