Danish alt-metal visionaries Møl have revealed "Crush", a towering new single from their forthcoming third album Dreamcrush, due out 30 January via Nuclear Blast Records.
Arriving as the band gear up for an extensive UK and European headline tour throughout February, "Crush" follows previously released singles "Garland" and "Young", further sharpening the focus on what promises to be Møl's most immersive and emotionally charged record to date.
Built on a slow-burning sense of tension, "Crush" captures the band's signature balance between beauty and devastation — a contrast guitarist Nicolai Busse says lies at the heart of Møl's identity.
"'Crush' encapsulates the dichotomy we as a band always have sought to balance," Busse explains. "The journey between melancholy and jubilee, uplifting beauty and devastation… an acceptance of the many grey days, the mundane — and the possibility of growth hidden within them."
That emotional duality runs throughout Dreamcrush, an album that explores the fragile line between aspiration and disillusionment, and how dreams can both propel us forward and quietly consume us. Musically, the record finds Møl threading soaring alt-rock hooks through their sharpest, most jagged edges, resulting in what may be their most explosive and soul-stirring work yet.
Following the critically acclaimed Jord and Diorama, Dreamcrush sees the band continuing to evolve, drawing inspiration from My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, and Smashing Pumpkins while carving out an identity that feels unmistakably their own. Themes of belonging, resilience, and finding home within oneself recur across the album's 11 tracks.
Recorded over several months at Frederik Uglebjerg's Aarhus studio, the album was shaped gradually, allowing space for reflection and experimentation. Vocalist Kim Song Sternkopf expands into a deeper baritone range, delivering lyrics in both Danish and English that revisit past experiences with striking vulnerability.
Guitar solos from Busse heighten the emotional impact, while abstract artwork by Daniel Owen (Nemesis Design) and photography by Rolf Meldgaard visually echo the album's exploration of dreams, reality, and reconciliation. Pre-orders are available here.
