Neko Case has announced her next album: Neon Grey Midnight Green is due for release on September 26th via ANTI- Records. Today, The New Pornographers member has released the single “Wreck,” which you can listen to below.
Neon Grey Midnight Grey was mainly recorded at Carnassial Sound, Case’s Vermont studio, with additional sessions in Denver and Portland. “There are so few producers who are women, nonbinary, or trans,” Case said. “People don’t think of us as an option. I’m proud to say I produced this record. It is my vision. It is my veto power. It is my taste.”
Kicking off this October, Case will embark on a North American tour with stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Toronto, and more. Tickets are available now (get tickets here).
Case’s last album Hell-On, was released in 2018, though she put out the 2022 compilation record Wild Creatures in 2022. She contributed to The New Pornographers’ last record, 2023’s Continue as a Guest.
This January, Case released her memoir The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, plus, announced she would score the musical adaptation of Ridley Scott’s film Thelma & Louise.
