New San Diego Festival RENEW Announces Phase 2 Lineup

Big Gigantic, DJ Susan, and Ero 808 are headlining the first-ever RENEW, a festival set to take place at San Diego’s Fit Social Club on Mission Beach.

San Diego‘s Mission Beach looks to be the site of a brand-new festival this summer. RENEW, as it’s called, lands at Fit Social Club on August 2, and the second phase of its lineup is giving fans of both fitness and EDM plenty of reasons to attend.

Arguably the most notable among them is Big Gigantic, a familiar fixture of the festival landscape. A live electronic duo consisting of drummer Jeremy Salken and saxophonist Dominic Lalli, they’ve captivated music lovers with their vibrant fusion of glitch-hop and instrumentals. RENEW has billed them for a “360 house party set,” implying that they will perform in the round with the audience on all sides.

Relatively speaking, DJ Susan is an up-and-comer, but he’s risen through the ranks of dance music himself over the past few years. RENEW is but one of 14 dates on a summer tour taking the San Diego talent across North America from June through September.

Ero 808 is another rising star on the bill, hailing from Boston but currently based in Boulder. Last but not least is Wisconsin-born, Denver-based DJ CLRBLND, who rounds out RENEW’s phase two lineup with panache.

RENEW offers numerous other draws outside of the music. Attendees get to enjoy yoga classes, speakers, beach games, saunas, a group ocean plunge, and other wellness activities.

The festival is being organized as a partnership between Almost Nakey and Same Same But Different. In April, the latter festival brand shared the phase one lineup for this year’s edition of its flagship namesake gathering.
