With new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love approaching and lead single "Drop Dead" atop the charts, Olivia Rodrigo will pull double duty on Saturday Night Live this weekend, hosting the show for the first time and returning as musical guest for a third go-round following appearances in 2021 and 2023. We've reached the part of the week where promos for the show are starting to appear. In a new one today, Rodrigo stars in the Anne Hathaway role in a timely parody of The Devil Wears Prada.
The clip is mostly an excuse for impressions maestro James Austin Johnson to send up Meryl Streep. Evoking a scene from the original Prada film, JAJ dresses up like Streep's Anna Wintour-esque character Miranda Priestly and dresses down Rodrigo by pointing out the many ways SNL sketches have connected to her career over the years. There's a pretty funny (if predictable) punchline at the end.
Watch below.
Rodrigo's SNL episode will air live this Saturday, 5/2. Will Weyes Blood be there?
